AZbb Tags

AZbb (AZ Bulletin Board) uses the tag 'a' for its anchors, which is close to the actual HTML tags. Most other forums scripts use the [url][/url] and [url=][/url] tags.

## HTML Tag
<a href="http://www.azbb.org/">AZ Bulletin Board</a>

## AZbb Tag
[a=http://www.azbb.org/]AZ Bulletin Board[/a]

## Other forums
[url=http://www.azbb.org/]AZ Bulletin Board[/url]

## Some Other forums
[http=http://www.azbb.org/]AZ Bulletin Board[/http]

Convert Button

To help the members, I have especially written a Java-Script to convert [url][/url] and [url=][/url] to AZbb code.

Simply highlight the text and click on the Convert button above the post box.

URLs and Images

If there is only one link, you can use the Source Box. AZbb automatically adds the tags to the entry.

You can manually paste the URLs in the message box.

Click-able:

[a]http://www.domain.com/etc1[/a]
[a]http://www.domain.com/etc2[/a]
[a]http://www.domain.com/etc3[/a]
[a]http://www.domain.com/etc4[/a]

Click-able with text:

[a=http://www.domain.com/etc1]This is the text[/a]

Plain URLs for copy an paste (not click-able)

http://www.domain.com/etc1
http://www.domain.com/etc2
http://www.domain.com/etc3
http://www.domain.com/etc4

You can use the image tags to include images.

[img]http://www.domain.com/pic.jpg[/img]

Image tags with link:

[a=http://www.domain.com/etc1][img]http/www.domain.com/pic.jpg[/img][/a]

Proxies

Xchange will automatically proxify the links and external images. Some links and images like the ones on image hosting companies are exempt.

Therefore, there is no need to add proxies to the links.

AZbb script does not automatically parse the URLs by design. Therefore there is no need to obfuscate the URLS i.e., change them to h**p://...

Access to Boards

I have noticed that some members are not finding their posts that they have posted! The reason is that they are most likely they have been moved to the right forum sections!

If you look at main page of the forum you will see all the categories/boards that Xchange has to offer in very large letters, (example, Babes, Lesbian, Hardcore, Teens). If you read under those large letters you will find a posting guideline for what is to be posted in each board.

In some forum sections (boards) you may need 5 posts or maybe 10 posts or more to be allowed access to that board, and it says it under the large letters of each Board name!

So please read what is written in small letters under each board, this should make things easier for every poster that posts on Xchange!

How many images should be posted in one Topic/Thread?

There is no hard and fast rule about it. Splitting a post into 10 posts/topics containing 5 images each is rather stupid.
On the other hand, creating one thread/topic with many 100s of imagess is also undesirable.
One thing to bear in mind is the visitors' bandwidth. I prefer not have posts that contain more than 100 MB of images as many (especially foreign) visitors may still be on dial up.

In my view, thread/topics should be categorised by Topic and Subject matter. Therefore, a post about the same person/subject would be better off in one thread.

Is there a limit on the daily posts?

There is no problem with posting many top level threads/topics in a day. I can post (and have posted) in excess of 200 topics a day (not that anyone is required to ;)). I always post materials which are already available on the net. There are others who are gallery builders.

Have fun
G.
